UNCITRAL-HCCH Joint Session on the Cross-Border Legal Dimensions of Digital Trade

Dates and time: 9 12 November 2026. Meeting hours will be from 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. and from 2 to 5 p.m., except on Monday, 9 November 2026, when the session will be opened at 10 a.m.

At its fifty-ninth session (New York, 29 June – 10 July 2026), the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) agreed to hold a joint session with the Hague Conference on Private International Law (HCCH) to address topics relating to digital platforms, digital payments and secured transactions involving digital assets.

In line with that mandate, the UNCITRAL secretariat is organizing a joint session with HCCH to address UNCITRAL’s ongoing work on digital platforms, digital payments and secured transactions involving digital assets as well as HCCH’s ongoing work on central bank digital currencies and digital tokens.
