UNCITRAL Events and Colloquia

At its fifty-second session, in 2019, the Commission requested the Secretariat to organize a colloquium, in cooperation with other relevant international organizations, to further clarify and refine various aspects of the Commission’s possible work on civil asset tracing and recovery, for consideration by the Commission at its fifty-third session, in 2020. The Commission was of the view that the colloquium should consider the elements of a possible toolkit on civil asset tracing and recovery and collect more information on civil law jurisdictions practices.

Durante el 52o período de sesiones en 2019, la Comisión pidió a la Secretaría que organizara un coloquio, en cooperación con otras organizaciones internacionales competentes, a fin de aclarar y perfeccionar diversos aspectos de la posible labor futura de la Comisión sobre localización y recuperación civil de bienes, para que la Comisión lo examinará en el 53º período de sesiones, en 2020.

The Universal Artificial Intelligence: Levelling the Playing Field conference, co-organized by UNCITRAL, Shearman & Sterling, and BCG Gamma, will be held on 15 November 2019 in Paris, France. A member of the UNCITRAL secretariat will participate remotely in a panel titled “Artificial Intelligence in Law: Artificial Intelligence v. Human Judgment.”

Un représentant du Secrétariat de la CNUDCI interviendra en visio-conférence dans le panel intitulé « L’intelligence artificielle en droit : l’intelligence artificielle contre le jugement humain. »

The United Nations Convention on the International Effects of Judicial Sales of Ships (the "Beijing Convention on the Judicial Sale of Ships") opened for signature at a ceremony in Beijing today, 5 September 2023.  Fifteen States signed the Convention at the ceremony, which was attended by senior officials and representatives of more than 30 States.
